Tallow Beach – Flee the crowds to this deserted sandy stretch that extends for 7km south from Cape Byron, backed by Arakwal National Park. If you visit during spring and winter you’ll be able to watch the whales migrating between the Great Barrier Reef and Antarctica. This is also a great spot for bird watching, so don’t forget your binoculars.

Watego’s Beach – This beach is categorised by crystal clear waters and regular dolphin spottings. Enjoy the peaceful beauty of this sheltered beach with a quiet picnic and a relaxing paddle.

The Wreck —This beach is named after the protruding shipwreck of the SS Wollongbar, which create a series of sandbars that result in good swell ideal for surfing. Along with the surf crowd this beach also attracts people who are interested in exploring the wreck and all the fascinating creatures that call it home with a mask and snorkel.

The Pass – Many water activities are launched from this beach including daily snorkelling and diving tours as well as whale watching tours. This beach is on of the top 15 surf beaches in Australia. if you’re not interested in surfing you might enjoy observing the pros do what they do best at the Fishermen’s lookout. This is also a great spot for admiring the vie watching the surfers and spotting dolphin and whales.
